Personally, if there were one thing you shouldn’t miss, it would be the sheep shows in New Zealand. Coming from a city in Malaysia, it would be a first for me. Furthermore, the farm activities offered would be enough to retain one's attention. There are two famous farms with their own sheep shows in Rotorua. One is called the Agrodome and the other is the Rainbow Springs Nature Park. Let us talk about the sheep shows at the Agrodome. Three fantastic live sheep shows are held daily at the Agrodome. Show times are at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 2.30 p.m. Nineteen breeds of champion ram will be shown as the showman and his sheep entertain you on stage. Other interesting displays would be the sheep shearing display and sheepdog trial. And who could resist those cute cuddly baby lambs? It was pure pleasure just bottle-feeding them. Spectators may even try their hand at milking a cow and taking in the dairy display. The souvenir shop is a great stop after the show to collect any memorabilia. The shops stock a large range of delightful wool and sheepskin products, postcards, films and other New Zealand souvenirs. You may also experience the great outdoors by touring the 300-acre sheep and cattle farm on traditional horseback. Other fun activities include clay bird shooting. Life on the farm is actually fascinating. Being the city-girl that I am, I’ve always presumed that farm life was dead boring but I was proven wrong. I hand-fed deer and sheep, took a leisurely stroll through a real kiwifruit orchard, and even saw bees busy at work with the delicious Agrodome honey. If that is not relaxing enough, there is always the licensed Farm View Café to enjoy superb New Zealand food and refreshments.
