Let’s just relax
By Julie Worm
Mont Kiara International School

Last year during spring break, we went to Phuket with my grandparents. We had already booked a hotel room, but when we arrived the rooms were nothing like the pictures we had seen on the internet. The rooms were dark and gloomy. Cockroaches were running across the floor and on the bed. Although the bathrooms were good, they were extremely dark. My grandmother has poor vision and she could barely see the toilet! So while my parents went out to find better accommodation, my grandparents, my sisters and I stayed at the beach. My parents returned within a few hours with a really great condominium.

The condominium called Central Water Front Suites is located in the middle of a small town on Karon beach. We stayed on the eleventh floor, which had a great view. We could also see the swimming pool from the balcony. In the condominium there were two medium sized bedrooms, each with an attached bathroom and balcony. The kitchen and living room were joined together. We made breakfast and sometimes lunch at the kitchen but we went out for dinner almost every evening. There were many shops around the condo where we could buy food for breakfast and lunch.

There are many activities you could do besides spending the day at the beach. One activity we tried was elephant riding. It was extremely fun, but was very bumpy. If you haven’t tried it, I recommend you do. There are also various sightseeing trips. You could enjoy the great sea view and beautiful nature by going to the mountains or even visit the seashell museum.

The beach was opposite the condominium and my family and I spent much of our time there. It was an excellent beach. The sand was soft whilst the crystal clear waters was warm. Even my grandmother was in the water and she hardly ever goes swimming. There were all sorts of high adventure water sports available at the beach such as jet skiing, water skiing, parasailing or the more relaxing activities such as canoeing, sailing or getting your hair braided! The beach is a great place to relax.

The beach is the place we enjoyed most but there are endless places you could visit and things you could do around the island from shopping for souvenirs to scuba diving. If you are planing a trip to Phuket, I would definitely recommend that you stay the Central Water Front Suites.
