A
new age restaurant and bar, fueled by the new condominiums
springing up in the upmarket neighborhood of Bangsar, is GRAPPA,
The trattoria.
GRAPPA
is a 1,500 sq ft Italian trattoria with a design style unique
to their concept. The space combines casual elegance, contemporary
flare and the charm of old world Italy, seating 60 with a
small bar.
GRAPPA
is a casual dining experience of a simple Italian fix.
Offering
peasant soups, homemade pasta and authentic wood fired pizza
and foccacia, GRAPPA also
provides espresso, coffees, fine Italian wines, a huge range
of Grappas and a warm inviting atmosphere.
The
logo illuminated in "wine red" and other Italian
graphics frames the main entrance. The beautiful wood beams,
open kitchen, wood burning pizza oven, exposed wine cellars
and the 10 ft cafe doors help to replicate the feeling of
a Tuscan market square trattoria.
Other
features which help to create a cosy atmosphere, yet contemporary
casual dining environment are the warm olive and red tones
and earthy finishes. Decorative 1950s Italian advertising
graphics covers the walls.
A
bar runs directly in front of the open kitchen with heaps
of red sauce stuff that might turn up the noses of Italian
and local gourmands and the gracious waitstaff won't make
you feel like a cretin if you mispronounce the wine.
