Most people
enter Myanmar by means of flight. However, in recent times, some road
border crossings have opened up so that these foreign travelers are able
to enter Myanmar overland via Yunnan province in China. There are also
other entry points along the Thai border. Tourists are still not permitted
to arrive by ship.
By flights,
there are frequent ones to Yangon from Bangkok, Hong Kong, Singapore and
Kuala Lumpur. There are also other flights from capitals of the neighboring
countries although they are less frequent. Departure tax is US$10.
