Kranji War Memorial The Kranji War Memorial is the final resting-place of thousands of allied troops who had died in Southeast Asia during World War II. The names of war's soldiers are inscribed on the walls and a register is available for inspection. Past Singapore Presidents are buried in Kranji. Getting there : Take SBS Bus 170 from Rochor Road. Dalhousie Obelisk Situated on the banks of the Singapore River, the memorial commemorates the visit to Singapore in 1850 by Marquis Dalhousie, the Governor-General of India. Getting there : Walk across Cavenagh Bridge from Raffles Place MRT Station. Haw Par Villa Tiger Balm Gardens Discover Chinese mythology stories in this sprawling park. A stroll through the gardens will bring about legends graphically portrayed by over 1,000 figurines. A visit to the infamous Ten Courts of Hell is a must. It is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Getting there : Take SBS Bus 10 from Clementi MRT Station or SBS Bus 200 from Buona Vista MRT Station.
