Tang Dynasty City

Singapore's largest historical theme park, Tang Dynasty City is a recreation of Chang'An, the capital of 7th Century China during the Tang Dynasty when arts and culture flourished on an unprecedented scale. There are architectural productions of the Imperial Palace, the Great Wall of China, a Wax Museum, a Chinese Ghost Mansion, and the tomb of the Valiant Terracotta Warriors in the Underground Palace among others. The Silk Road Market Place features merchants, live processions, performances, and historical re-enactment of events from the Tang Dynasty. Operating hours are 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. daily.

Getting there : Take SBS Bus 154 or 240 from Lakeside MRT Station.

The Battle Box

The Battle Box was an underground operations center for the British Malaya Command HQ during World War II. With 22 rooms linked by a corridor, this complex is bombproof and was also capable of recycling its own air supply. It was also the place where Lt-Gen Percival made his decision to surrender to the invading Japanese troops on February 15, 1942. The bunker is now a recreated exhibition site that features robotic wax figures and virtual-reality viewing of actual footage of events leading to the surrender of Singapore. The last entry is at 5 p.m.

Getting there : Walk towards Fort Canning Park from Dhoby Ghout MRT Station.
