Itinerary |
Day 1 : Kuching - Kubah National Park (Lunch/Dinner)
- Pick up from City Hotel then proceed for birding at Kubah National Park. The Park is situated on a sandstone plateau, mostly covered by mixed dipterocarp forest which interspersed with patches of scrub & unusually rich area of Kerangas forest, is the home of mammals, birds & many species of reptiles and amphibians. Upon arrival, aim to spot endemic species like Blue-banded pitta, Bornean blue-flycatcher, Bornean Banded kingfisher Yellow-rumped flowerpecker, Bornean Black-magpie & etc. Meanwhile, aim to spot resident birds like Red-bearded bee-eater, Raffles’s malkoha, Red-naped trogan, Diard’s trogon, Scarlet-rumped trogon, Rufous-backed kingfisher, Rufous-collared kingfisher, , White-crowned hornbill, Red-throated barbet, Rufous piculet, Grey-&-buff woodpecker, Maroon woodpecker, Banded broadbill, Green Broadbill, Grey-bellied bulbul, Chestnut-naped Forktail, White-rumped shama, Grey-headed babbler, Rufous-crowned babbler, Scaly-crowned babbler, White-necked Babbler, Brown fulvetta, Large-billed blue-flycatcher, Spotted fantail, Asian paradise flycatcher, Grey-breasted jungle-flycatcher, Mangrove whistle, Scarlet-breasted flowerpecker, Crimson sunbird, Crested jay & etc. Lunch is provided. After lunch, continue for birding in the National Park. ( Or ) transfer to Matang wildlife center & aim to spot endemic species like Bornean Bristlehead, Bornean Wren Babbler & etc. Dinner is provided. After dinner, proceed for night walk & aim to spot
Blyth’s frogmouth, Reddish Scops-owl, Barred eagle-owl, Sunda scops-owl, Brown Hawk Owl & etc. Overnight stay at Kubah National Park.
Day 2 : Kubah National Park (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
- After breakfast, continue for birding in the National Park and aim to spot more resident birds like Raffles’s malkoha, Scarlet-rumped trogon, Diard’s trogon, Jambu Fruit Dove, Rufous-backed kingfisher, Rufous-collared kingfisher, , White -crowned hornbill, Red-throated barbet, Rufous piculet, Grey-&- buff woodpecker, Maroon woodpecker, Black-&-yellow Broadbill, Banded broadbill, Green Broadbill, Grey -bellied bulbul, Chestnut-naped Forktail, White-rumped shama, Grey-headed babbler, Rufous-crowned babbler, Scaly-crowned babbler, White-necked Babbler, Brown fulvetta, Large-billed blue-flycatcher, Spotted fantail, Asian paradise flycatcher, Grey-breasted jungle-flycatcher, Mangrove whistle, & etc. Lunch & Dinner is provided. After dinner proceed for night walk for more nocturnal birds. Overnight stay at Kubah National Park.
Day 3 : Kubah National Park – Matang wildlife Centre (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
- After breakfast, transfer to Matang wildlife center & aim to spot endemic species like Bornean Bristlehead, Bornean Wren Babbler & etc. Meanwhile, aim to spot more resident birds like Red-crowned Barbet, Red-naped trogan, Scarlet Minivet, Chestnut-breasted Malkoha, Crested Goshawk, Blue-winged Leafbird, Scarlet-breasted flowerpecker, Crimson sunbird, Crested jay & etc.
Lunch & Dinner is provided. After dinner proceed for night walk for more nocturnal birds. Overnight stay at Kubah National Park.
Day 4 : Kubah National Park – Bako National Park (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
- After breakfast, continue for birding until check out then transfer to Bako National Park. Lunch will be served en route. Upon arrival at Bako Jetty, take a 20 minutes boat ride to the Park, It’s the oldest and one of the most popular national parks in Sarawak, offers the perfect introduction to Sarawak’s forest and wildlife. It contains a wide range of vegetation – peat swamp forest, scrub-like padang vegetation, mangrove forest, dipterocarp forest, delicate cliff vegetation, beach vegetation & Kerangas forest. Visitors can see wildlife such as
Proboscis monkey, Silver langur, Long-tailed macaques, Bearded pigs, Monitor lizards, Flying lemur & etc.
Birding in the afternoon and aim to spot Velvet-fronted nuthatch, Stork-billed kingfisher, Common flameback, White-bellied woodpecker, Black-& Red broadbill, Red-crowned barbet, Mangrove Blue Flycatcher, White-chested babbler, Abbott’s Babbler, Bold-striped tit-babbler,Ruby-cheeked sunbird, Pink- necked Green pigeon, Lesser cuckoo-shrike, Scarlet minivet, Asian fairy bluebird, White-rumped shama, & etc. Dinner will be served in the park canteen, after dinner, proceed for night walk and aim to spot Sunda Scops Owl, Buffy Fish Owl, Oriental Bay Owl & etc. Overnight stay at Bako National Park.
Day 5 : Bako National Park – Kuching Airport - Miri - Lambir National Park (Breakfast/ Lunch / Dinner)
- After breakfast, continue for birding & aim to spot more resident birds. Afternoon, check out then transfer to Kuching International Airport for departure flight to Miri. Upon arrival transfer to Lambir National Park ~ The Park is the most complex and diverse forest eco- system in Sarawak, experts have found what appears to be the greatest level of plant biodiversity on the planet. It is not only plant life that is diverse and plentiful at Lambir - 237 different species of bird, flying squirrels, wild pigs, gibbons, many different types of monkey, various species of deer, and untold insects and other invertebrates, all combine to create Lambir’s rich biological kaleidoscope. Aim to spot endemic species like Bornean Bristlehead, Bornean Banded Kingfisher, Bornean Black Magpie & etc. Lunch & Dinner is provided. After dinner proceed for night walk for nocturnal birds. Overnight stay at Lambir National Park.
Day 6 : Lamibir National Park (Breakfast/ Lunch / Dinner)
- After breakfast, continue birding in the Park and aim to spot resident bird like Garnet Pitta, Hook-billed Bulbul, Rufous-tailed Shama, Red-bearded bee-eater, Raffle’s Malkoha, Rhinoceros Hornbill, Wrinkled Hornbill, Red-throated Barbet, Blue-eared Barbet, Green Broadbill, Rufous Piculet, Dark- throated Oriole, Horsfield’s Barbbler, Black-throated Babbler, Rufous-backed Kingfisher & etc. Lunch & Dinner is provided. After dinner proceed for night walk for nocturnal birds. Overnight stay at Lambir National Park.
Day 7 : Lambir National Park - Lawas – Orang Ulu Homestay(Breakfast/ Lunch / Dinner)

After breakfast transfer to Paya Maga Highlands ~ The highland is comprises steep hilly terrain rising from 300 m elevation and reaches elevation of 1860 m at the summit of Gunung Matalan. It’s covered with secondary forest species occur along the logging road with abundance of Macaranga, Encompasses the stretch of logging road from where the road begins a steep uphill incline past Gunung Do’a to the base of the Paya Maga plateau (1400 m). Habitat along the road consists of mixed dipterocarp and lower montane forest. Occasional patches of undisturbed forest remain particularly on the steep gradients montane heath forest. Birding along the old logging road and aim to spot endemic species like Black Oriole, Bornean Banded Pitta, Blue-banded Pitta, Hose’s Broadbill and etc.. Lunch & dinner is provided, after dinner proceed for night walk and aim to spot Bornean Frogmouth. Camping at Paya Maga camp site.
Day 9 : Paya Maga (Breakfast/ Lunch / Dinner)

After breakfast continue for birding and aim to spot more endemic species like Bornean Leafbird, Bornean Bulbul, Pygmy Ibon, Bornean Spiderhunter, Bornean Treepie, Chestnut-crested Yuhina, Bare-headed Laughing-thrush, Bornean Whistler and etc. Meanwhile, aim tospot some attractive resident bird like Rail Babbler, Collared Owlet, White-crowned Hornbill, Hill Blue Flycatcher, Scaly-breasted Bulbul,
Finsch’s Bulbul, Cinereous Bulbul, Olive-backed Woodpecker, Rufous-collared Kingfisher, Diard’s Trogon, Red-bearded Bee-eater & etc.
Lunch and dinner is provided and overnight at Paya Maga Camp site.
Day 10 : Paya Maga - Bakalalan (Breakfast/ Lunch / Dinner)

After breakfast full day birding around the village and aim to spot endemic species like Bulwer’s Pheasant, Whitehead’s Trogon, Whitehead’s Spiderhunter, Whitehead’s Broadbill, Fruithunter, Mountain Serpant Eagle, Black-throated Wren babbler, Bornean Barbet, Mountain Barbet, Golden-naped Barbet, Bornean Flowerpecker, Chestnut-hooded Laughing Thrush, Eye-browed Jungle Flycatcher, Red-breasted Partridge, Mountain Black-eye, Bornean Flowerpecker & etc.
Meanwhile, aim to spot some attractive resident bird like White-necked Babbler, Blue- banded Kingfisher, Helmeted Hornbill, Ferruginous Partridge, Orange-breasted Trogon, Dark Hawk Cuckoo, Common Green Magpie & etc. Lunch and dinner is provided. After dinner overnight stay at Bakalalan Homestay
Day 12 : Paya Maga - Bakalalan (Breakfast)
