- DAY 01 ARRIVAL – KUCHING CITY TOUR
Upon arrival at Kuching International Airport, meet and greet by our friendly representative and proceed for KUCHING CITY TOUR. Kuching, the capital of Sarawak, is a city that beautifully showcases its cosmopolitan nature through its street heritage. The heart of the city is well preserved, with ornate houses of worship such as the Kuching Oldest City Mosque and Tua Pek Kong Temple. There are also many colonial-style architectural gems, including the Square Tower, which stands alongside the historical Astana and Fort Margherita, the futuristic State Legislative Assembly building (DUN), and the iconic Golden Bridge, which overlooks the Kuching Waterfront.
The iconic cat statue strategically dotted along the city centre is a symbol and mascot of Kuching City. It will greet you along the way as your tour takes you to the Market, Main Bazaar, China Town, and other well-known city landmarks, including the Borneo Cultures Museum, among other places of interest. Check-in to hotel of your choice.
- DAY 02 BAKO NATIONAL PARK DAYTRIP (B/L)
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning proceed for BAKO NATIONAL PARK DAYTRIP. Bako National Park, Sarawak's oldest and most renowned national park, established since 1957, is the oldest and one of the most popular national parks in Sarawak. Situated about 37 km from Kuching city, the excursion takes about one and a half hour by land and boat. With an area about 2,727 hectares, it offers the perfect introduction to Sarawak’s Forest and wildlife. provides the ideal introduction to the state's rich forests and wildlife. It has diverse vegetation, jungle streams, cascading waterfalls, intriguing plant life, trekking trails, and coastlines with small bays, coves, and beaches. Among its captivating wildlife residents are the proboscis monkeys, long-tailed macaques, Borneo bearded pigs, and monitor lizards. You will be able to see almost desert-like scrub, or “padang”, on the plateau and lowland dipterocarp forest. Lunch at Bako Park Café. Return to hotel and rest.
Wildlife sightings: With any tour involving wildlife there is no guarantee for sighting, although each trip is designed around known habitats. The guides will do their utmost to ensure a sighting, but cannot be held responsible if there is no success, because of weather circumstances, the wildlife itself or any other element beyond our control.
- DAY 03 SEMENGGOH WILDLIFE CENTRE – IBAN LONGHOUSE (B / L / D)
Breakfast at the hotel, Morning visit to SEMENGGOH WILDLFE CENTRE. Unlike in a zoo, the orangutans are free to roam in this 653-hectare forest reserve. Here, young and adolescent orangutans are trained and equipped with the right skills for survival in the wild. Witness their delicate nests, nimble treetop acrobatics and the nuances of their feeding behaviour. The guide will provide in-depth insights into the distinct behaviour and characteristics of this unique primate otherwise known as ‘man of the forest’. Continue journey to MENGKAK LONGHOUSE. The 4-hour drive will take you through scenic greenery and countryside views of rolling terrains dotted with vegetable farms and paddy fields. You will also pass by Sarawak’s thriving cash crop plantations such as rubber, pepper, oil palm and and cocoa. We will make a brief stop at Serian, a native town, to experience the bustling daily wet market. Here, the locals showcase rare jungle produce on vibrant mats and canvases to attract buyers. Then, enjoy lunch at Lachau, a quaint and well-known “cowboy” town where tribal natives from Indonesia's neighboring Kalimantan border town gather to barter trade and sell produce. Here, you can also get a last-minute gift for your Iban host. The road trip ends at the riverbank, marking the beginning of your longboat ride upstream, with the journey duration varying depending on the water level and your longhouse destination. The longboat is piloted by one boatman, with a one navigator in front of the hull. The navigator guides and steers the boat using hand signals to the boatman, to avoid hidden tree stumps or logs along the route. In dry seasons, prepare to walk along the riverbank and through the jungle, while the boatman transports the engines. Once the water deepens, another longboat will await us. Upon arrival, mingle with the longhouse community and embrace communal living. Learn their hunting techniques, bamboo cooking practices, and their deep connection to the forest for everything, from food to medicine. Indulge in local delicacies such as the famous “tuak”, a locally brewed rice wine, and take part in the “ngajat”, a traditional warrior dance. Spend the night at the guesthouse.
- DAY 04 BACK TO KUCHING (B / L)
After breakfast, join in an engaging demonstration of “cock fighting” and blowpipe traditions. You can also embark on a guided jungle trek, gaining insights into the plants and animals significant to the local culture and way of life. Depart from the longhouse around mid-morning then proceed overland towards Kuching, stopping for a fulfilling lunch at Lachau town. Transfer to city hotel of your choice for check in and overnight.
- DAY 05 DEPARTURE (B)
Breakfast at the Resort and free at leisure until check out from the hotel and transfer to Kuching International Airport for your departure flight.
