DAY 01: KUALA LUMPUR – COLOMBO - SIGIRIYA – DAMBULLA (L/D)
Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo. Meet by our Local Representative and transfer to local restaurant for lunch. Leave for Sigiriya-Rock Fortress, which is a World Heritage site, built by King Kashyapa (477-495 AD). The 'Lion Rock' is a citadel of unusual beauty rising 200 metres from the scrub jungle. The rock was the innermost stronghold of the 70 hectare fortified town. A moat, rampart, and extensive gardens including the renowned water gardens ring the base of the rock. Visit the world-renowned frescoes of the 'Heavenly Maidens' of Sigiriya, which are in a sheltered pocket of the rock approached by a spiral stairway. These frescoes are painted in earth pigments on plaster. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel. DAY 02: DAMBULLA – MATALE - KANDY (B/L/D)
After breakfast, Visit to World Heritage Site -Dambulla Rock Temple was built by King Walagambahu in the 1st century B.C. and it is a World Heritage Site. Most impressive of Sri Lanka's cave temples. The complex of five caves with over 2000 sq. metres of painted walls and ceilings is the largest area of paintings found in the world. It contains over 150 images of the Buddha of which the largest is the colossal figure of the Buddha carved out of rock and spanning 14 metres. Proceed to Matale-Spice Garden, to see different spices for which Sri Lanka is famous. Proceed to Kandy en-route stop for Lunch at local restaurant. Drive to Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and is a World Heritage Site. The name 'Kandy' conjures visions of splendour and magnificence of legends; traditions are still lovingly kept alive. Drive around Kandy Lake built by the last Sinhala king, Sri WickramaRajasinghe in 1798. Visit the Kandy Town, Local Bazaar, Arts-Crafts Centre and Gem Museum – Lapidary. Visit Temple of Tooth Relic and in evening enjoy Kandayan Cultural Show. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel.
DAY 03: KANDY –COLOMBO (B/L/D)
After Breakfast, drive to Colombo, upon arrival lunch at local restaurant. Drive past to visit Colombo capital city in developing countries has fast changing its face. Some parts of the old world charm are retained. The 100-year-old Clock Tower and several British built colonial buildings. Other places of interest are the Pettah bazaar - where one can shop for bargain, an outright gift from Sri Lanka. Visit the Hindu Temple, Buddhist Temple and the Dutch Church of Wolfendhal dating back to 1749. Lunch at local restaurant. Drive past residential areas where you find the stately homes of the affluent, the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall, (BMICH) - see the replica of Avukana Buddha and the Independence Square. Dinner at Local Chinese Restaurant and return back to hotel for overnight stay.
DAY 04: COLOMBO – NEGOMBO (B/L/D)
After Breakfast, Free at leisure for Shopping Tour, Highlights- Odel, Lakmadura, House of Fashion and Stone & String. Lunch at local restaurant. Drive to Negombo-modest beach town with culture vultures will find bustling Negombo town a historically interesting place. Major tourist attractions of Negombo, use the town for the first or the last night of their stay in Sri Lanka. Day at own leisure at the beach. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel. DAY 05: NEGOMBO–KUALA LUMPUR (B)
After Breakfast, transfer airport for departure flight with wonderful memories of Sri Lanka
