DAY 01: KUALA LUMPUR – COLOMBO (L/D)
Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo. Meet by our Local Representative and transfer to local restaurant for lunch.
Drive past to visit Colombo capital city in developing countries has fast changing its face. Some parts of the old world charm are retained. The 100-year-old Clock Tower and several British built colonial buildings. Other places of interest are the Pettah bazaar - where one can shop for bargain, an outright gift from Sri Lanka. Visit the Hindu Temple, Buddhist Temple and the Dutch Church of Wolfendhal dating back to 1749. Drive past residential areas where you find the stately homes of the affluent, the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall, (BMICH) - see the replica of Avukana Buddha and the Independence Square. Dinner at local restaurant and return back to hotel for overnight.
DAY 02: COLOMBO – SIGIRIYA (B/L/D)
After breakfast, drive to Sigiriya, en-route stop for lunch at local restaurant. Visit Sigiriya-Rock Fortress, which is a World Heritage site, built by King Kashyapa (477-495 AD). The 'Lion Rock' is a citadel of unusual beauty rising 200 metres from the scrub jungle. The rock was the innermost stronghold of the 70 hectare fortified town. Visit the world-renowned frescoes of the 'Heavenly Maidens' of Sigiriya, which are in a sheltered pocket of the rock approached by a spiral stairway, where you see the frescoes are painted in earth pigments on plaster. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel.
DAY 03: SIGIRIYA–MATALE – PERADENIYA - KANDY (B/L/D)
After Breakfast, drive to Kandy-enroute stop at Matale -Spice Garden, to see different spices for which Sri Lanka is famous. Lunch at local restaurant. Visit Peradeniya Botanical Garden which was first built as a pleasure garden by a Sinhala king and was expanded by the British, provides an amazing variety of trees, plants and flowers. Drive to Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and World Heritage Site. City of the legends, traditions and folklore are still lovingly kept alive. Drive around the Kandy Lake built by the last Sinhala king, Sri WickramaRajasinghe in 1798. Visit the Kandy Town and Local Bazaar, Arts and Crafts Centre, Gem Museum and Lapidary. Also visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic. Thereafter witness a Kandyan Cultural Show. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel.
DAY 04: KANDY – TEA PLANTATION – NUWARA ELIYA (B/L/D)
After Breakfast, drive to Nuwara Eliya- The ‘Little England’ of Sri Lanka, is set against beautiful backdrops of Mountains, Valleys, Waterfalls and Tea Plantations. It is supposed to be one of the coolest places in the Island, but it is really just like an English spring day, although the temperature does drop at night. Nuwara Eliya you will see evidence of the British influence, houses like country cottages or Queen Ann style mansions. Sri Lanka’s highest mountain Pidurutalagala (8282 feet) is located here and has one of the finest 18 hole golf courses in South Asia. Lunch at local restaurant. Visit Tea Plantation and Tea Factory, you can observe the process of manufacturing tea and how is graded. Enjoy a cup of pure taste Ceylon tea in the factory. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel.
DAY 05: NUWARA ELIYA – KITULGALA – COLOMBO (B/L/D)
After Breakfast, leave for Colombo. En route visit Kitulgala-The Kelani River (the broadest river in Sri Lanka) flowing through Kitulgala was the main location where the Oscar winning movie Bridge on the River Kwai was filmed. Lunch at local restaurant. Drive to Colombo, arrival Shopping tour in Colombo-Highlights- Odel , Lakmadura, House of Fashion and Stone & String. Enjoy Dinner, at Local Chinese’s Restaurant. Back to hotel for overnight stay.
DAY 06: COLOMBO–KUALA LUMPUR (B)
After Breakfast, transfer airport for departure flight with wonderful memories of Sri Lanka.
