The northern section of Osaka centres around the Osaka station, thus making it the city's traffic hub, as well as business and amusement centre. Also known as Kita-ku, the northern district houses several department stores, office buildings, theatres, restaurants, and bars. Umeda Sky Building
Umeda Underground Arcade This arcade is so complex that even local residents get lost within this labyrinth of shops. There are various sections housed within this arcade. The fashion corner features dress shops, boutiques, and fashion houses, while another section showcases tea houses and restaurants. Another part of the arcade is made up of nightlife spots, filled with bars, pubs, and dance clubs. Towards evening, the arcade becomes even more congested than the main street. However, it is easy to get lost whilst wandering through this underground maze. Nonetheless, it will be worth the adventure as visitors will be able to feast their eyes on the numerous establishments available. The complex links Osaka station with Umeda station and can be entered from either station. Museum of Oriental Ceramics
To reach the museum, take either the Midosuji or Keihan rail lines to Yodoyabashi station, walk north to the river, and cross the Nakano-shima Island. From there, walk past the city hall. The museum is a short walk from the hall on your left.
