The northern section of Osaka centres around the Osaka station, thus making it the city's traffic hub, as well as business and amusement centre. Also known as Kita-ku, the northern district houses several department stores, office buildings, theatres, restaurants, and bars. Umeda Sky Building The Sky Building is a twin-tower complex with the two towers joined together at the top. The building has an outdoor and indoor observation gallery. It can be reached by an underground passage from Umeda or Osaka station. Visitors can also take the JR Osaka Loop Line and alight at the Fukushima station. Umeda Underground Arcade This arcade is so complex that even local residents get lost within this labyrinth of shops. There are various sections housed within this arcade. The fashion corner features dress shops, boutiques, and fashion houses, while another section showcases tea houses and restaurants. Another part of the arcade is made up of nightlife spots, filled with bars, pubs, and dance clubs. Towards evening, the arcade becomes even more congested than the main street. However, it is easy to get lost whilst wandering through this underground maze. Nonetheless, it will be worth the adventure as visitors will be able to feast their eyes on the numerous establishments available. The complex links Osaka station with Umeda station and can be entered from either station. Museum of Oriental Ceramics Reputed to have one of the finest Chinese and Korean ceramics collections in the world, this Oriental Museum features over 1000 exhibitions that will surely enthrall any visitor. The museum is open daily, except on Mondays, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. To reach the museum, take either the Midosuji or Keihan rail lines to Yodoyabashi station, walk north to the river, and cross the Nakano-shima Island. From there, walk past the city hall. The museum is a short walk from the hall on your left.
