Seeming to be an old town with its facades of ancient structures and elegant buildings, Dunedin is in fact still youthful. It is home to New Zealand's oldest university and large numbers of students give it a relaxed atmosphere, with plenty of pub music and theater to offer. The Fortune Theatre is particularly good.
