How to Get There
Malaysia Airlines and Air Asia provide flights departing from Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru to Kota Kinabalu. Check the flight schedules at www.malaysiaairlines.com.my and www.airasia.com. From Kota Kinabalu you fly with Malaysia Airlines in 50 minutes to Tawau. At the new Tawau airport you are picked up by an aircondition minivan and transferred in 1,5 hours to the fishing village Semporna. If you arrive there in the afternoon it is better to stay there one night and sally to the islands on the next day.

From Semporna all operators bring their guests by speedboat to the islands. Following travelling times occurs:

• Semporna - Mabul : 30 Min
• Semporna - Kapalai : 45 Min
• Semporna - Sipadan : 60 Min
• Mabul - Sipadan : 20 Min
• Kapalai- Sipadan :15 Min
• Mabul - Kapalai : 5 Min

Smart Divers Resort
The Smart Divers resort is nestled in a coconut grove on the south-east side of the island overlooking the water and near-by Sipadan Island. It consists of 45 wooden duplex chalets with each room featuring two oversized single beds, a couch, shelves, ceiling fan, flyscreened windows, air-conditioning, a private en-suite bathroom offering free-flowing hot and cold fresh water and a front verandah.

Mabul Water Bungalow
Mabul Water Bungalow is a new floating dive-resor. These wooden-type bungalows has fourteen (14) unit entirely built over water with stilts offer sheer comfort. Each bungalow exquisitely furnished with contemporary decor.

Diving Center
A technical diving center offers various services such as Nitrox Air and Technical International (TDI) Certification Courses. An underwater video center provides underwater videography courses and services as well as rental of digital cameras.

For the diving facilities, the resort has 6 custom built fiberglass dive boats; 1 custom built wooden dive boat; and 4 half cabin passenger/transport/dive boats. These dive boats can carry 10 divers each and get to any of the island dive sites in about 15 minutes. Each boat goes out 3 times a day with a boatman and divemaster. The facility boasts 4 Bauer Compressors, 180 Aluminium 3000 psi / 80 cu. ft. tanks with American style ‘K’ valves. Also included, a 220 / 110V charging system for strobes and lights.
